What you'll do in this role:
We are looking for a Visual Design Manager, who will be responsible for leading an incredibly talented group of visual designers and developers. Your partner in crime will be the manager of Interaction Designers - where together you will inspire the UX team to make real magic happen. This leader will have a proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their delightful experience and ease of use.
A bit about you:
- Fierce desire to be leading the helm of an ridiculously talented team creating innovative designs and interactions
- A passion for fantastic, mind numbing user experience
- A current portfolio of your teams' efforts exhibiting insane visual design ability with a laser focus on user-centered design
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of business leaders, technology leaders, product management, customer support and other key leaders
- Out of the park organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects at once (and enjoying the challenge!)
- Ability to instill a sense of pride and commitment in the team that produces flawless work in a fast-paced environment
- Identify team strengths and where they might be a tad challenged. You engage in mentoring, putting them on the right track with training plans and staffing recommendations. These of course align the team's skill set to business needs and technical innovations
- You live for innovation and experimentation - particularly with new technical and UI trends. You get fired up to create opportunities to put them into production

Experience
- 3-5 years managing a UI Development team (leading teams and individuals, defining schedules, and meeting release dates)
- 10+ years of significant track record in defining and delivering great user experiences
- Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision, and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their delightful experience and ease of use
- Excellent command of user experience methods, innovation, customer research, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing skills and design principles
- Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change in a matrixed, fast moving environment
- Strong track-record of hiring & developing great talent to be high-performing &highly engaged team.
- Ability to masterfully articulate/define/integrate the role of design and research
- 3 to 5 years experience working for SaaS companies focused on the SMB space
- Experience using defect tracking software such as Jira
- Experience with libraries such as JQuery and UI toolkits such as Prototype and script.aculo.us
